| 28965 | 2001-12-28 22:36:00 | hi anyone with WIN XP would know what I'm anout to talk about. When I press ctrl+alt+del windows task manager pops up and when i click on processes there is so many programs are running. IS there supposed to be so many things to be running? Also when i click on performance my total memory is 245232 and avalible is only 100543. I think I have little memory left on compared to how much i have in total. However I am a newbie to all these things so guys out there please help me. Thank you |

If YOU are not doing much, the system will tend to leave things where they are in memory. If you get busier, it will swap out some of its processes to make room for your work. There is only a real problem if you have too little memory. You will then get major error messages. Things like full lists of processes can be a bit frightening; sometimes 'ignorance is bliss'. |
