| 29172 | 2001-12-30 10:28:00 | Hi team I've just been reading the post about using msconfig from XP in W2K and was wondering if the Program Compatibility wizard in XP might be similarly transferred. It would be really useful for some of my older programs. I've shifted a few Windows programs & utilities around between different OSs in the past and found that once you had the .exe in place, a series of error messages would tell you what was missing each time you tried to run it. After all those bit & pieces were transferred the programs ran OK. I also used the 'Transport' function in a program called MicroHelp Uninstaller 3 with great success but as it was designed for WFWG 3.11 (but claimed compatability with Win95) I doubt it would be much use with W2K or XP! Any ideas or info on commercial transport programs, freeware, shareware or hacks would be appreciated. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
