| 29077 | 2001-12-29 20:00:00 | Here is a write bugger, (it's making me write to F1). If I have Outlook Express open and I go on Internet, sometimes I get disconnected just when I get to the good part or even before that. The reason is I have 'Hung up after sending and receiving' ticked, I like to disconnect as soon as I finished getting my mail, so all the time I have to go, TOOLS => OPTIONS => CONNECTION (tab) and tick or untick it, if Microsoft got $1 every time I used that they would be very rich (joke, ha ha) or I would never use Outlook Express again. So the solution would be, it would be great value if the the 'tick or un-tick' box for 'Hung up after sending and receiving' was on the toolbar of Outlook Express. What a pity one does not have a magic wand, I would wear it out. Just on my computer |

Here is a interesting web site www.cooper.com A couple of words I do not agree with, and there are about a dozen or more words missing. I managed to print it off in 27 pages. |

| 29080 | 2001-12-29 21:12:00 | I found when I used to use Outlook Express that if I wanted to surf the net etc. and download mail at the same time I'd connect via IE, then outlook express wouldn't disconnect after its got the mail, as it wasn't the program that had established the connection. However if I only wanted to get email, then I'd connect through OE and it'd do its stuff and disconnect at the end. Doing it this way shouldn't take any extra time, and you should be able to leave the 'disconnect after mail downloaded' box ticked. Hope this makes sense! Mike. |

That way you will always get the option box when you disconnect. Just as good as the icon on the desktop, except it is automatic. Also the option will probably not work until the next time you start OE or IE, as with most setting changes in these two programs. |
