29382 2001-12-31 21:21:00 I have my laptop (Windows ME) and computer (Windows XP) sharing documents and the same Epson printer. Using the laptop, the printed colours are as one might expect, but printing the same graphics in documents from the computer, the greens are very dark green, the golden yellows, a dirty brown.

Why? How do I correct this.?

29383 2001-12-31 21:57:00 Hi Doctor!

Didn't Santa buy you a new 'top of the range' printer. Try that and see how it goes! I mean, try get/borrow another printer and test it. I wonder why it does that?

If so it?s all to do with those drivers that tell your PC how to talk to the printer.

As XP is a new operating system the drivers may not yet be optimized for your printer. Check out

'www.epson.co.nz To see if you are using the latest drivers.

Once completed and still colour printing joy. On the XP pc head over to the printer properties. Start > Settings > Printers (May be a little different).
Now in front of you will see all printer devices that are installed. Right Click on the Epson printer and select properties.
Not knowing what the Epson properties look like here sorry, but you are looking for something along the lings of colour management. Match up how your settings are configured the Laptop.

Still no joy ?. When you do select to print from the XP PC from an app say MS word, when the print dialog appears, select properties. A new pop up should appear asking what quality do you wish to print do i.e. draft, normal etc. For most tasks involving colour this should be set to normal.
