| 29273 | 2001-12-31 06:45:00 | Hello, Tell me how i can get around this problem, I have a PC running several USB devices (3 at any one time) The problem is is that recently i took the jump to Jet Start and Purchased an external USB Modem which works great(Jetstart is amazing) ,anyway now when i try to hhok up another USB device ,lets say a webcam i get a message saying 'Cannot connect devices due to low bandwidth' or somthing like that , then it takes me to a window which shows my ADSL USB modem is using 79% of my USB Bandwidth. Is there an easy way around this. Thanks in advance James Cuttance |

| 29274 | 2001-12-31 07:45:00 | The Out of Bandwidth message occours when your USB devices requires more bandwidth than normal operation (Ie Printer, mouse, scanner). When everything is plugged into the USB port these is no allocation of resources, ie your pc telling your modem 'you can only have 1/3, mouse you can have 1/3, printer you guessed it 1/3.' As there is no reserving USB bandwidth. Instead devices 'demanded' only when the device is being used. So what can be done ? a)Well things like a mouse can connected via a different ports ie PS2. So try and free up some connections. b)Unplug the modem when needing to use the cammera c) you may want to look at adding an additional USB controller to your pc. |
