If a Word document is opened in Wordpad there is usually a screed of boxes and other rubbish, sometimes several pages of it before some plain text appears. The more recent the version of Word, the more of it there is. I think it is formatting data. It probably wouldn't be a bad thing to ask your corrspondent to send their attachments as text files. Either that or buy a cheap secondhand WP program like Works 3 or Word 95 and have the files sent as RTF format. That will retain the original document formatting. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
