| 29435 | 2002-01-01 08:28:00 | Hi, I don't know what's wrong with my computer lately but my desktop icons sometimes just disappears for no reason. Sometimes it's not just the desktop icons that just disappears, even the icons that in my folders and even the Start menu icons. When the icons disappears, it will just leave the name of the icon eg: ???.dat like that. Does any one know what could be causing this problem? I have tried running scan disk and Av but nothing seems to work, I'm running Win98Se. So can any one help me, please? | Guest (0) | ||
| 29436 | 2002-01-01 08:59:00 | sounds like corrupt icon cache. find the file ShellIconCache in windows. rename it to ShellIconCache.bak it should rebuild on reboot. note-its a hidden file and i'm rusty on it hence rename it not delete it :) |
