29619 2002-01-03 02:39:00 Does anyone know of a programme that converts 128 or more kbs mp3 files to wma files . Not had much luck with music match. It keeps locking up. Does Windows Media Player convert files Guest (0)
29620 2002-01-03 05:09:00 Media player doesn't convert files (as far as I could find anyway) but there is a MS program available, I think from www.microsoft.com that has converters etc. I think its called Media encoder or something, but there's a list of downloads from that page that might be of some use to you. 29621 2002-01-03 07:35:00 As Mike says MS Windows Media Encoder will do the job. There is a recording option 'Template with I/O Options' which allows you to choose AVI, WAV or MP3 as the file source, or a live source.
As with many of these encoders it takes some experimentation to get the recording level and bit rates right for reasonable quality sound.
Have a search through the MS site for it. I dont have the URL to hand.
