29825 2002-01-05 00:44:00 I remember reading about USB 2.0 a while ago, but I haven't heard anything lately.

Is this a happenin' thang or not?

I've never used USB at all, but my vague impression is that USB 1.1 was a bit of a dog. Fair or not?

29826 2002-01-05 01:12:00 hi John,

it looks like USB 2.0 is happening, as there are interface cards with XP drivers available now. USB 1.1 was great, it never claimed to be superfast, and there are stacks of peripherals for it. Firewire (iee 1394) was the better product but has ended up a bit like Betamax did vs VHS. USB 2.0 should combine the speed of firewire with the plethora of peripherals already available for USB. I'll buy a USB 2.0 interface when the prices are better though.
