30127 2002-01-07 04:37:00 Hi,
Looking for help with my Acer CDRW6432 CD burner that has stopped working. It is unable to complete a burn, nor is it able read a CD that plays OK
in my CD-ROM and CD player.
After trying to do either of the above the system ends hanging, when trying to get out
of this state I find this error message,
' An exception OE has accurred at 0028:C182D828 in VxD volttrack (04)+ 00000168.This was called from 0028:C182D6C0 in volttrack (04)+ 00000000 '
This leaves me scratching my head but hopefully someone knows what this means.
Appreciate any help
Thanks
Paul

30128 2002-01-07 07:21:00 Try reinstalling any software that came with your cd-rw. Guest (0)
30129 2002-01-07 09:58:00 Are you running XP Pro or XP in general.

I have XP Pro and running a Sony 1611/82U 16x/10x/40x CDRW and is doing the same as yours by the sounds of it like for example when i tried loading Half Life it would start to read it then stop then start... and would get no where, got it to work a few times that is all. Next i can analyse music CD's but can't view in Explorer and finaly if burning is stops and says that it can complete cos something dumb like the IDE cable is lose.

30130 2002-01-07 21:41:00 Hi BM,
Tried that but did not work.
What I have just noticed is that if I insert a CD into the CDRW drive, while I can move my curser on the desktop
I can not open any folders or icons on the desktop.
As soon as I eject the CD everything is back to normal.
There is a green light on the front of the drive that constantly blinks when a CD is in.I think before it stayed on .Also I can hear clicking noises coming from the drive.
What I forgot to mention before is that I am using Win 98SE 64Meg RAM 466 Celeron
