| 30085 | 2002-01-06 23:09:00 | o/s win 98 amd duron processor 120 ram when playin games and windows media player computer locks up ihave just found that the memory in the hard drive is used up and it looks like that is the problem i dont no if its a hard wear or softwear problem can any 1 help |

| 30086 | 2002-01-06 23:35:00 | I dont know the technical answer to the problem but I use winramturbo its a small prog that frees up and defrags your ram helping your puter maintain enough ram to operate without lockup. | 30087 | 2002-01-07 00:26:00 | can you explain what 'ihave just found that the memory in the hard drive is used up' means?? the only way to use up 'memory in the hardrive' aka virtual memory(i'm assumeing this is what you mean) is if you have run out of space on the harddrive or you have set a max amount for the virtual memeory. try not to use 'ram defragers' etc unless you have to. rnning another prog in the background may make thinks worse(if you are running low on resources). |

| 30090 | 2002-01-12 22:52:00 | thanks to all so far that have helped with my problem Can any 1 tell me or point me in the right direction as to what part of windows 98 sys manages the refesh part of memory all the solution s givern to me ihave compilyed with but when i use windows and any programs each time i use a new program it takes a chunk of memory and if i dont shut down it keeps takin memory time i run out and finaly couses the computer to lock up or a mesage out of memory inow have 256mb of ram |
