30194 2002-01-07 13:06:00 I have two progs that need to use the same dll name but want different dll versions. They look for the dll in a common files directory. is there a simple way to have both different dll versions active, one for each prog, either by remapping the dll name or changing the location the progs look for the dll in. I've tried relocating the dll to the rpogs directory and the system directory but that doesn't work. Guest (0)
30195 2002-01-08 01:32:00 If you put the appropriate dll version into each application folder then maybe this will solve the problem, but not if you are running programs that are trying to call the two dll's with the same name at the same time. However you indicate this didnt work... rotten.

You've been led into 'dll hell mode' caused by program makers trying to make their own bits of operating system.
There may be no easy way out from your problem, except to discard the program you least need, or see if there is an update that doesnt cause this version conflict.
Best of luck.
