| 30181 | 2002-01-07 08:36:00 | I have recently downloaded the ASFRecorder & need someone to explain to me in simple language how to use it! Ive had very limited success so far having only copied two music clips. My problems arise when i need the URL for the streaming music. I cant figure out the correct way to do this! Also i would really love to record webcams which im sure this program can do. Can someone give me a step by step guide on how to do this...( maybe an example? ) Your help would be greatly appreciated! | Guest (0) | ||
| 30182 | 2002-01-08 01:35:00 | .::ASFRecorder::. Well...besides Copy n Pasting the URL (http or mms) into ASFRecorder there isn't much to it. Just ensure if you have a firewall running it is not blocking the appropriate ports... If you get a Timed Out or Connection Refused then you can modify the URL(http or mms) to a diff bandwidth ie look for 56, 128, 300 etc... in the url and modify it to one of the above #'s 56 = low 128 = med 300 = high .::WebCams::. Well you have 2 options here. Webpage based streaming cams and application based cams(eg Yahoo or AIM Buddy Vision). Webased: Webcam Watcher by Beausoft (h**p://www.webcamwatcher.com/) will accept image/webpage details and record each image for ya... For other streaming Webcam/audio sites you can try Streambox VCR, which was originally designed to record RAM/RM streams but which now records almost any stream type(http, mms, pnm, mov, asx, plz, smil, rtsp) and infact is quite a handy D/L manager. So grab StreamBox VCR Suite from www.jummpa.com .This package includes version 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, so just ignore 1.1 & 1.2 and stick with 1.3 as it has all the features of the previous 2. Application Based: This are a little bit different. If you can detect the stream URL then you can try and paste into StreamBox. Otherwise your next best option is Snagit/Camtasia and Hypersnap DX. Wicked apps that take snap shots of your desktop(or specified area/app) and compiles them into a AVI file(choose your own codec). |
