30314 2002-01-08 11:30:00 is it posible to stop modems making the dail up noise i have tried turnig the speakers off but that makes no difference Guest (0)
30315 2002-01-08 12:12:00 Yep, sure is possible, Farmdude.

1. Open dial-up networking (Should be an icon on your desktop).
2. Select your connection icon (but don't double-click it)
3. Click on 'Properties' in the toolbar.
4. Click on the 'Configure' button, which is lower down on the General tab.
5. Slide the speaker volume to 'Off'.

If this doesn't work, let us know as there are sometimes a couple of other settings that can interfere.

Cheers

John.

another way is in xtra settings in your modem in the control panel, type in M0 (the 0 is a zero)

30318 2002-01-09 01:03:00 Modem speaker volume has to be turned off in 2 places.

Where John said, and again in control panel, modems etc.
