If you have not configured any inbound port mappings (pin holes) in the M1122 it is impossible for an attacker to initiate a connection from the outside of the router. Instead focus on a good virus scanning product to protect you inside from a trojan style attack. A good anti-spyware product like Adaware will top off your protection. Anyone who says that 'any protection is better than no protection' when refering to a personal firewall is suffering from FUD. You can continue renting your modem if you downgrade to jetstart. I think you were once saying you get slow negotiated speeds at your place anyway aye? see ya |
