If you know the character codes you can hold down the ALT key while you type in the number and get the letter. I never use it because I can never remember the codes for characters I rarely use. I think some use this way extensively. (But it doesn't work in some applications like Notepad, and here, and ...) 3>. If you have auto-correct in your WP you could set it up so that (say) 'eacute' would be automatically changed to 'i'. Terry@nz |

| 30238 | 2002-01-08 00:27:00 | Hiya You can use Character Map built into Windows to select accented letters (Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools), copy to the clipboard and paste into your text. This can be time consuming if there is a specific character you will use often and they actually have shortcut keys, created by holding down the alt key and typing up to four numbers using the numeric keypad (not the numbers along the top of the letter keys). eg alt and 0192 = @ alt and 132 = d alt and 234 = j Here is a page listing many combinations... www.xplor.org J. |
