30600	2002-01-10 06:12:00	Internet chat is always a lot of fun, and a primary reason for me to use the net when I'm not busy. I personally use ICQ and MSN Messenger. What you do with these is download a small program, and set up an account with them - it's all free. I personally prefer MSN, and will explain what you need to do to get started. 1) Go to http://messenger.msn.com and download MSN Messenger. 2) Once downloaded, install and run - you will then be told to setup an account - follow through all the prompts to get a hotmail account. If you already have one, you can use this. 3) You can then login to MSN messenger and begin adding people. For starters, my address can be added: j_A_Giles@hotmail.com The downside to MSN, if you are interested in searching for people with similar interests or for a random chat - you can't. If you are interested in that, use ICQ (download from http://www.icq.com). Personally, I don't do random chats - i use MSN and ICQ to chat with people I already know. Go to http://www.mirc.com and download the mIRC client, install it and you are pretty much away laughing. Just remember to read the (fairly) brief manual first, and bobs your uncle.	Guest (0)

Seven days a week, 24 hours a day, you will find hundreds (even thousands) of New Zealanders chatting in local Kiwi Chat Rooms. You are not limited however ... and may join any Room, discussing any imaginable topic, anywhere in the world. Rooms are categorised onto different Topic Boards - ranging from 'General', 'News', 'Special Interest' or 'Romance' to name just a few. 30603	2002-01-10 09:57:00	wen i first was into chatting, i went to yahoo chat. there are a range of rooms ranging from football to new zealand and local chats, it has a really easy interface. 30604	2002-01-10 10:30:00	Another chat site is where the majority of people went after xtra shut down their New Zealand chat site...all you need for this site is the small download that you get from the inital sign in page www.cyao.com Try them all...msn chat is a good place to start but try to avoid the big rooms....8 people is a good number till you get used to things. a few abreviations common in chat:- lol = laffs out loud pmsl = p-ss myself laughing asl = age/sex/location afk = away from keyboard brb = be right back ty = thank you cyber = cyber sex also never.....NEVER give out your phone number or email address in chat...these can be used to track down your home address etc or you may suddenly be inundated with viruses at your email addy. Chat is fun....take it seriously and you wont enjoy it and remember you and the people you are chatting to can be whatever and whoever you like in chat....some of the best fun I've had is pretending to be a woman in chat and watching the guys fall over each other trying to pick me up....he he he	Guest (0)
30605	2002-01-10 20:15:00	Hello Keith, another chat program is paltalk, which also allows for camera use as well as voice. So you can see as well as chat. the chat roooms are well supervised. its free, but has annoying popup ads until you pay a small fee.
