2002-01-09 21:44:00 | I must say, there seems to be more and more people these days taking PressF1 for granted. If YOU dont understand an answer, say so, maybe you didnt explain the question correctly, maybe the answer assumes knowledge you dont have, there is no need to make a new posting telling the world how disappointed you are with the quality of answers - especially seeing that most of them are very good replies. If there are no answers to your posting, chances are about 99% that its because people dont know the answer. As the alternative, is every man and his dog responding to every posting with 'I dont know', just dont bother complaining about it, accept that maybe no one who has read the posting knows the answer. We need to remember this is a free service guys and gals. The people who respond to your postings (other than robo cos hes paid to do it ;-) do so voluntarily and in their own free time. A lot of the solutions they provide, would cost good money if they werent prepared to offer them for free, so how about showing a little respect, and appreciating what is being offered without complaining.

2002-01-09 22:46:00 | Hi Ian, I think that most ppl who post enquiries here are grateful for any advise received.... I have yet to see someone complain on this site in the manner that you are talking about. If they are, thats their problem. In one ear, out the other I say Regards, ALAN ;-) P/S.... Robo might get paid for doing this site, but he posted a reply to my thread at 9pm last night. I doubt whether he was getting paid at that time, LOL

Many thanks everybody! Tony. |

2002-01-10 12:19:00 | I for one am very grateful to everyone who has answered any posts I have put up and to everyone who has answered other posts too.... I have learnt a hell of a lot from this site, in fact I think I have learnt more from this site than anywhere else on the net I have discovered so far. I'm still in the newbie range of experience...4 months and still going... but have already made quite a few mistakes and luckily have emerged relativly unscathed and just a bit wiser...well the wife disagrees but thats another story...anyway keep up the work guys and girls... If it wasnt for you I probably would have given up and stuck to using this thing for email and chat and not discovered half of what puters can do....now if I can just remember to stop downloading and trying out all those nifty looking little programs that play around with my system I might be able to enjoy more moments of sanity. | Guest (0) | |
2002-01-10 20:08:00 | Don't worry about me. I do get paid, not a lot, isn't making me rich, but you don't always do things for money. One needs to be 'floating around' often, although I am being dragged offline for the next week, so you'll be able to talk about me behind my back. I think Iain is right though, can't expect perfect answers instantly with incomplete information in the question at no cost. There are occasionally complaints, but you know what they say: sticks and stones may break our bones..... robo.
