I think your question has well and truly been answered. Especially since it seems your are looking at buying your burner soon (if not already). I think Tazzie's reply was especially good, just take your time and see what works for your system. Another thing to look at is not only the hardware but the software. If I am doing a straight copy I use CloneCD. It wont matter how fast (or slow) or CDROM and burners are as it will set it to the primo settings for you(which you can alter of course). What I like about Clone Cd is that it will read your original disk, write a copy to your hd, burn the copy and then delete the copy on your hd (or leave it there if you like). As to where to find the CloneCD program and serial (always good to find) I'm sure you are more than capable to find it.
