| 30535 | 2002-01-09 22:47:00 | Robo, Is there any way of having the email notification identify the post to which it refers? This may already be happening but if I try to open any of the emails, I just get a message saying 'there's insufficient memory to open this message'. I have been getting emails telling me I have a response but I can't find a posting that has been replied to! - I'm not complaining here, just trying to make better use of this great facility. Cheers, ray |

| 30536 | 2002-01-09 23:31:00 | I used to have that problem too but I have found 2 ways to get around it. The first is to empty your outlook of all mail...click and drag any you want to save over to your desktop and place into a folder for saved mail and delete all other rubbish. then to read the postings you just click and drag them over to the desktop and then open them from there. I beleive its a problem with outlook and the size of the link that comes with the notification. The other way is to get yourself another email address to use for the net.. I use netscape and am very happy with it. Its an alternative browser to IE and has a nice big storage capacity unlike hotmail. | Guest (0) | ||

| 30538 | 2002-01-10 20:55:00 | Hi Ray, I get all my Press F1 notifications through Outlook, and I can tell exactly what posting it is referring to..... If you right click on the email inbox notifier, you will get the ' NOT ENOUGH MEMORY' message.... but if you left click to open the email, it will then tell you exactly what the posting is about, and who posted it (its above the URL) and if you left click the URL, it will dirctly open the exact posting on the Press F1 page. There is no need to have to use Netscape (I think having two browsers is the start of a lot of PC problems anyway) I hope this answers your query and that you can understand my early morning ramblings... Regards, ALAN ;-) |
