| 30510 | 2002-01-09 21:27:00 | I have set up 7 users on my PC with their own passwords. I notice that all the internet history under my own password appears also under all other users names in their Windows/Profiles/Temporary Internet Files folder as well as under Windows/System/Temporary Internet Files. Is this correct as it seems wrong to me??. If the machine only had my password access then this history would only be there once. Is this info. taking up space unnecessarily if so how does one keep my history under my password only?? I have also noticed that all files are accessible by the other users (in particular - when searched for), I would have thought each user only had access to his own files even on a search?? Why when viewing icons in Folders in My Documents, appear Hazy or faded while others (the same icon) are brightly coloured?? Anti Virus info. - PC Cillin is on my Pc I have to reregister soon after 6 months use at a fee for a year in US dollars. Do you know of where I can find info. on the best product to download at a good fee?? Is there any table info. on tested product by experts?? Does one give over credit card details, is it safe?? when purchasing a further year of virus checking?? I come to the end with my current ISP soon after the initial PC purchase choice where can I find info. on who to join up with inparticular the free ones?? thankyou for your help, I apologise, I am new at this!! Look forward to your return mail |

Yes when searching from any user it does not discriminate between users, it just hunts through all folders. As for history, favourites internet explorer uses one folder for all. So yours becomes viewable to others. B) Hazy Icons, if it is only some icons then the particuler icons may be corrupted. C) Antivirus, try nortons AV. You can buy it off the shelf, comes with a years updates and then you can choose to manualy update or renew your subscription using a local site. D) ISP's 3 I would recommend, in no particular order. www.xtra.co.nz www.paradise.net.nz www.inspire.net.nz |

C) Most of them are quite good these days, just remember to keep definitions up to date. As for credit card, have you ever ordered a pizza by phone and paid by credit card? Using your credit card online is a lot safer than phone ordering. D) As far as Im aware, none of the free ISP's are still accepting accounts. |
