| 30497 | 2002-01-09 20:43:00 | Just curious to know why some postings are wider than others? eg: tweak'es - the 'opps i'm late' news posting. most postings fit on to my screen (800 x 600)but tweake's latest posting requires scrolling in order to view Im sure its not something Tweak'e has done cheers steve |

When posting a message, at the end of each line (after a certain width has been reached) the message continues on the next line... but ONLY if the word has finished. So if there's an extra long word (or in the usual example, a long web address) the message doesn't break half way through the word, so continues the word (or web address) on until it is finished, then it goes onto the next line. All the other lines stick to that width. Go back and have another look at tweak'es post. I'm sure you'll find an URL in there that fills up the whole line or most of it. |
