1288088 2012-07-12 23:42:00 My dad purchased a moshi mini display to hdmi in hopes of mirroring his macbookair's screen. Currently when plugged in the computers screen flashes blue and does not recognize the input of the device. The tv shows only a blank screen. Any help would be appreciated as i do not have a lot of experience with macs. Slankydudl (16687)
1288089 2012-07-13 00:02:00 Mini Displayport to HDMI you mean?

IIRC you still need to go into the Settings on the Macbook and actually *enable* the second monitor. It should stay blank until it's enabled and turned on as either a "mirror" of your primary, or an extended desktop.

1288090 2012-07-13 00:06:00 I cannot enable it if it is not detected. And i have tried with my own tower directly through HDMI with no results. And moshi is the brand of the adapter. Slankydudl (16687)
1288091 2012-07-13 00:44:00 Do you not have to select VGA or HDMI channel on the TV for the PC to notice the new panel?

1288092 2012-07-13 00:45:00 I dont know but i do know that the TV was set to the same prot the hdmi cable was plugged into. But it seems to work from my own desktop pc if i use a minidisplay to hdmi adapter for my gpu but it would be nice to know why it wont work if i just unplug my monitor and plug in the tv, it just shows as no signal on the tv and they are the same resolution. 1288094 2012-07-13 01:02:00 well i cant do any of that because those preferences only open when the computer detects an external display. Slankydudl (16687)
1288095 2012-07-13 01:04:00 Have to tried turning both off, connect the cables, turn on TV, then boot the mac! SolMiester (139)
