1287162 2012-07-09 01:04:00 Windows 7 has a firewall and its good enough Speedy Gonzales (78)

1287164 2012-07-09 01:17:00 Just dont use file sharing pgorams or go to dodgy sites Speedy Gonzales (78)
1287165 2012-07-09 01:30:00 Also most home users connect to the internet these days via an ADSL Router, the NAT on the router is generally good enough at stopping outside things from getting in. Chilling_Silence (9)
1287166 2012-07-09 02:14:00 Pretty much as speedy and chill said, you connect via a router or NAT which has a firewall built in and windows also has a built in firewall. Anything that gets past those is probably pretty malicious and would be likely to get through any paid solution just as well, that being said most attacks like that would be aimed at exploiting servers or corporate networks. 1287167 2012-07-09 02:46:00 Well the way that NAT works, it's not so much a firewall, nor does it "act as one", but it achieves the same thing most people want: Stopping things from the outside coming in Chilling_Silence (9)
1287168 2012-07-09 03:08:00 "Avast" is another free one. Some members dislike it, but I have found it OK. A bit intrusive at times.
Keeps attempting to install Chrome.
