1263965 2012-03-12 06:06:00 SP8's, I don't think anyone would take umbrage at your remarks, and I think Jen's remarks were meant to be more informative as some of us had been also enquiring after Godfather. RIP Godfather. That is why I made the post. I realise SP8's comments were lighthearted.

Jen, has this been mentioned on the forum before? It hasn't been mentioned before, but I know some long time members knew his full name and could have made (google) inquiries like I did. Because I found out several months after the fact, it didn't feel right to make a post then so I waited until the question came up.

For those that didn't know Godfather he was a very knowledgeable man, an NZ expert in his professional field and Microsoft had awarded him a MVP for his contribution to the Microsoft community.

Around here he was known for his very dry wit, wiliness to help others, an infamous crystal ball and being part of the PF1 community (especially the active ChatF1 at that time). A real Gentleman, charming rouge and a fighter.

1263968 2012-03-12 08:27:00 He was a wonderful man . . . . . . . . . . . . . sadly missed by many regulars .

He was a integral part of many a famous thread, like the tardis, woodchipper, wots wrong with my fridge momentus thread . . . . . :) (swimming pools and cows come to mind . always bring a giggle)

Sadly my one and only trip to CHCH Goddie was in the North island so we were unable to meet up . . . :( He helped me an awful lot, getting me out of many scrape . . . :)

1263970 2012-03-12 11:13:00 Yes I too am sad that Godfather has passed. He was a courageous man with a rare form of cancer which required exotic treatments such as being in a hyperbaric chamber. He never complained. My abiding memory is being taken for a drive by GF in a sportscar he'd bought for his wife, floating at dastardly speeds on back roads around Rangiora whilst he casually talked about the engine statistics. He was a decent and respected man. Winston001 (3612)
