1288248 2012-07-13 09:32:00 Maybe do this? Tried to get it to boot with an external monitor, but it wouldn't even do that. :p pcuser42 (130)
1288249 2012-07-13 14:49:00 Thing is not only was it "stomped on by an islander", it was also left out in the rain and wasn't even worth anything as parts...

Motherboard would likely be useful for parts at the component level, even after rain.

Possibly the CPU is still OK, protected by the heatsink etc. Heatsink should likely still be usable, and maybe the screws that hold it on.

Aside from that... it's FUBAR.

Well, Vista is the not boot part. The physical damage is what happens when the owner realizes what Vista has done :p

1288254 2012-07-15 00:02:00 I always said Win7 is just the Vista pig with lipstick and you know what?...... My original comment still seems valid to me! :p KarameaDave (15222)
1288255 2012-07-15 01:20:00 Everything is fiaxable, including the boys car he crashed yesterday, what it comes down to is cost. Will it cost more to fix than it's worth or more than a replacement. That laptop would fall into the last category as does the boys car, simply not cost affective gary67 (56)

Like I said, rebuild it from the heatsink up ;)
