1286594 2012-07-08 03:01:00 I used to love Battlefield 1942 & every now & then I think about bringing my old CDs out of storage, but I always decide it is not worth it - installing 2 CDs for the main game & one for every expansion (assuming it works on Win7 and my CDs are still good), then swapping CDs every time I want to play a different expansion.
If it was available on Steam or GoodOldGames for a reasonable price I would probably buy it again

It does work on Windows 7, and it's a damn good game. If you're annoyed about swapping CDs then just use a No-CD patch. Nothing wrong with that if you've paid for the game.

1286597 2012-07-08 09:39:00 I never had to swap disks ... there was only one expansion (Road to Rome) and that installed as additional maps etc. The other versions (Forgotten Hope, Desert Combat, Eve of Destruction and so on) were mods, free and installed alongside the vanilla version. In my opinion the gameplay of BF1942 was beyond reproach. Jester (13)
1286598 2012-07-08 10:33:00 Secret Weapons was a great expansion too. I found I loved Desert Combat when I first played it, but very quickly got sick of it & went back to the official game & expansions. Greven (91)
1286599 2012-07-08 10:36:00 Really? I still play DC, it's one of my favourites. Agent_24 (57)
