| 1264259 | 2012-03-11 03:49:00 | John Carter of Mars (www.imdb.com) You'll notice that this movie is loosely based on my life (Edgar Rice Burroughs was prescient), but with fewer monsters and more gorgeous women... The physical resemblance between me and the lead in the movie is remarkable - for it's total lack.... I've only seen the trailer so far - wondering whether it's worth parting with my hard earned (although I might try for a freebie, based on the name coincidence) |

| 1264262 | 2012-03-11 07:25:00 | Gave Sci-Fi a bad name how? this is pioneering stuff from the days before scientists knew anything about the conditions on mars, elements of this story are reused as concepts in all kinds of stories since. It's a straight out adventure story set in a fantasy world that the author imagined could have been mars. Turn of the reality filter and just enjoy the ride. I'm fairly forgiving of movies myself, I appreciate they are just stories meant to entertain and not reality. If you start looking for plot holes or continuity errors or implausibilities they are everywhere and all you do is spoil your own enjoyment. Johcar are you receiving royalties? perhaps you should be. I'm quite looking forward to watching your movie myself, the big action sci-fi movies are my favourite and they don't really come out that often compared to other genres although it does seem they're on the increase. On a completely unrelated side note what has speckie got against plurals? it keeps telling me I've spelt them wrong. |

Exactly - some adventure story......he goes off and meets these people and marries the princess of mars. Or maybe that should be Mills and Boon in space then? He was hardly the first to write SF and many before wrote decent stuff. |
