1263731 2012-03-08 00:52:00 Is a $1.89 usage for up to 24hr normal you in this situation? >10MB I gather.

I don't really use it but trying to get rid of the couple of dollars on this extra simcard before it expires.

7 March (yesterday) at 7.36pm it had $7.80 (by text confirmation).
8 March (today) at 12.30pm it had $4.13 (by text confirmation).

That's $3.67.
My prepay plan charges $0.89 per minute. I would had made 2 minutes of calling.
That becomes $1.89.
Does that sound normal 3G usage to you? I only checked Facebook a few times but didn't post. I didn't use GPS. When I sleep I turn the phone off. That's over 10MB ... Theoretically at home, I took the bus at 7.45pm yesterday - my Wifi connection is a higher priority than VF's 3G connection (per the Nokia menu). So in theory if there is a Wifi connection it would use that first.

My Nokia has the Nokia's own social app so it gets the updates every now/then, ditto for its email but I didn't receive any email with attachments. Just your usual - AirNZ, Webjet, Treatme etc ..

1263732 2012-03-08 01:05:00 Yeah it's pretty normal. Anything like polling emails / syncing via IMAP could use that. Then again I used to go through ~60MB on my iPhone under light usage each month, but that was partly coz of Vodafones crappy coverage. Switched to XT and immediately my usage doubled, even though I was actually using the device less, I'm presuming purely because it was able to actually poll as often as it was trying, and wasn't out of coverage.

I now go through ~600MB a month.

But yeah thats completely plausible.

1263733 2012-03-08 01:43:00 This morning I used the last of my 1GB plan from 2degrees, and it wasn't due to expire until the 18th :p

That said, now that my phone has internet sharing over WiFi, I've been using that data on my laptop as well.
