30776 2002-01-11 09:53:00 More information on what your trying to do would help.

If your looking for a better mobo you'll have to look at what you've got.

Is the 256MB SDRAM or DDR?

That means you'll probably want to get a mobo that supports the RAM you have without upgrading that.

Curious to know what mobo you have too?

Gigabyte GA - 7VMM

its not a bad motherboard but only has three PCI slots and no AGP

30778 2002-01-13 13:58:00 get Gigabyte 7VTXE for about $250 + GST. Got all the integrated stuff except NIC but with 7VTXH you get it as well but yeah it goes bit above 300. Well if you get 7VTXE then i guess you need DDR RAM and which means its above 300.

Anyways i reckon you go with 7VTXE. Its got the latest KT266A chipset and has all the goodies for OC. And also i am a Gigabyte Fan and they have the most stable boards around if not anything else. Soltek is just as good maybe and yeah from reviews they are best OC mbo and performance wise but stability in long run is where Gigabyte Rocks!!!

And yeah AGP Pro slot just has some extra pins for more power to those grunty cards...for their huge onboard memory and high clock rates. It is backwards compatible with existing AGP cards
