Andy I Think you're onto something... sure enough in system properties/ performance tab it said these two things 1: compatibility-mode paging reduces overall system performance 2:drive C is using ms-dos compatibility mode file system. It is recommending to me remove the drivers I installed. But I dont know what I installed? I thought I was installing the motherboard onboard sound and video drivers? and Yes in the bios setup/start up it acknowledges that there is the cd drive. Basically in device manager you need to remove your (via/intel or whatever name) pci bus master controller which will be in your hard disk controllers, reboot, and help windows to find the correct controller. If you are not sure about this, it would pay to get some help, as it is pretty hard to explain in detail. Your computer just won't run right until you get rid of the dos mode compatible driver. |
