30746 2002-01-11 07:11:00 I am running a P3 with 17 GB harddrive, 256 RAM with Win98SE. The hard drive is partioned to 2x 8 Gb drives. However now the computer only shows 2Mb for each drive, with the result if I try to open a Word document for instance the computer comes to a halt and on Ctl-Alt-Del shows 'System resources dangerously low'. Can you assist please. Guest (0)
30747 2002-01-11 09:51:00 System resources do not relate to disk space. Word (some versions) has been known to have a resource 'leak' which uses resources but does not release them when you quit.
Is it after keeping the computer on for extended periods and starting word multiple times?

You might want to try downloading a patch for word perhaps from the Microsoft site, especially if you are using '97. Although downloading could be huge (if it is still on the site). What version are you running?

Also, where does it report 2Gb? In explorer or file manager?

Regards, robo.

30748 2002-01-11 11:22:00 Am running Word 2000.
Disc space figures come from DriveSpace 3 - where it used to say 8 Gb per drive.
It reports this problem at any time I try to access Word- no matter how long it's been running.
Thanks, Nigel
