30896 2002-01-12 05:27:00 I am the secretary of a club with several Categories of membership. (A,B,C etc) I have the member's names listed in alphabetical order on one spreadsheet and want these to automatically transfer to another sheet separated under their various categories. This can be done with the 'if' function (ie =if(sheet1a1='A',b1,0)- b1 being the members name and A1 the category of membership. However this means that there will be gaps in the list because of the predermined position. Is there a function that will eliminate the gaps?
Thank's

30897 2002-01-13 10:38:00 You could do it manually by using Data/Filter/AutoFilter on the list categories then copying the results to the appropriate place.
A function won't do this - but a macro could.
