30890	2002-01-12 06:44:00	What kind of sounds does it make? Is there a CD inside it? Sounds to me like there could be a CD stuck inside, which would account for the strange sounds and it not opening. If it has got a CD stuck inside, you may need to manually open the drive and remove the CD. To do this, turn off your computer, carefully insert a pin or paperclip into the little hole underneath the drive tray (not the headphone socket) to release the tray, then very carefully and slowly pull the tray out, being sure not to get the CD any more jammed in than it is.
