31093 2002-01-13 11:17:00 HI,

Have a 1200MHZ Athlon T-bird with 128Mb ram, 30Gb HD, and Windows ME dual boot with Redhat Linux 7.1, and a 750MHz Duron with 64Mb Ram and 15Gb HD with win98.

I want to network the two as windows machines at home. The actual networking is no problem at this stage, but I was wondering if I could have both computers accessing one dsl modem, and if I can what additional hardware do I need other than the modem and the two netwok cards eg a network hub etc.

Also are there any know problems with this setup. Does anyone have any better suggestions? Will my current ram keep up? who can recommend a good network card supplier, and modem?

I am in Dunedin.

Cheers

31094 2002-01-13 11:30:00 Hi Graham

If you haven't bought the modem yet you may wish to look around a bit. You can buy external modems that act as a hub also so all you would need then is a couple of network cards and some cable and you in. As far as your systems go a bit more ram would be a bad idea but other than that I think your doing OK.
