31068 2002-01-13 10:53:00 All you have to do is pluf the microphone jack into the appropriate 3.5mm inlet on the back of your soundcard and make sure the the 'Line in' or 'Mic In' Channels are not muted in windows... then start using it with your favourite software! Guest (0)
31069 2002-01-13 10:59:00 Plug it in to the microphone jack of your sound card (usually on the back of the computer)

Now click on Start>Settings>Control Panel>Sounds and Multimedia

Here there are a number of controls for specifying a recording device.

Finally open the volume control...

Audio tab>volume button under the device.

Then make sure the recording volume is set to an appropriate level, and away you go.

P.S. I have asssumed a basic knowledge of computers, and a quick mind, so if you have any trouble reply with a specific problem and I will give more detailed instructions.

31070 2002-01-13 21:07:00 Hello Jim,
Plug the mic. into its inlet jack in the back of your computer.
Double click the volume controll icon on the right hand side of your task bar.
check the mic. is not muted, set mic. and main volume to about half.
click options, properties, recording, select microphone set volume at about half and click ok all the way out.

You can check to see if its working by using the recording program the comes with windows, called sound recorder on your program list.

Note: If you intend using the mic. with internet chat programs, in most cases the mic. needs to be muted. (yes muted!)
good luck,
Bob
