| 31149 | 2002-01-14 04:42:00 | Something has entered my Win98, IE6 system and keeps setting my home page to a porn site (HTTP:216.110.181.246) I can reset my Home page from 'My computer...Control Panel....Internet Options' but its inevitably reverts to the Porn Site. It has also locked me out of the Internet Options toolbar in IE6 iteself by telling me that option is cancelled and tells me to contact the system administrator I have installed and run AVG6 anti virus software with no detected virus and I have reinstalled IE6 to no avail. Q1. How can I regain control? Q2 How can I find and remove whatever it is that is causing this hassle? Thanks for any assistence. |

Remove it, restart, then go and put in the homepage you want into IE. Post again if this doesn't work and I'll tell you another option to try. | Guest (0) | ||
| 31151 | 2002-01-15 22:36:00 | Thanks for the help....but no go. No dialler program. There must be more to it than that as its locked me out of the 'Internet Options' on the Tools toolbar and as often as I try to to set the home page it reverts to this porn site. Is there a control function embedded in Win98 that can effect this setting? Any other suggestions appreciated or else I'm in the ballpark of deleting and reloading everthing Thanks |
