| 31126 | 2002-01-14 00:22:00 | I use Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 to format CD-RW discs. The discs have a stated capacity of 650MB, but when formatted this drops to 533MB. Where did the 117MB of capacity go? How can I obtain the full 650MB? | Guest (0) | ||

As a result there needs to be a table of contents, so to speak, that keeps track of all this behaviour, including the splitting of files. This table of contents has a substantial overhead on a disk as large as 650MB so you lose around 100MB I'm afraid. |

You will be able to use 650mb but you can only write to it like a normal disc. EG: you won't be able to use it like a big floppy disc & each time you want to write to it you will need to erase it first. if you want to use it as a big floppy again just format it using direct cd. cheers Steve |
