| 31371 | 2002-01-15 23:11:00 | In Windows XP, when I tried to open it, up came the message ?NTLDR is missing? After numerous attempts to open XP, I asked Microsoft for help. Eventually, I got most files back. Everything opens best in PKBACK#001 C: I seem to have umpteen My Documents files scattered in Windows Explorer. My Documents only open after I go to PKBACK#001, then My Documents. The other My Documents folders bring me to a list of files, including the My Documents I want.I did lose a lot of things, like my favourites on the Internet, my favourite music files in Windows Media (although they were still on My Music). My Networking between the computer (Windows XP) and laptop (Windows ME) is a mess (although I have never been able to set it up properly.) 1. Is there any way I can get back to my original settings without losing documents and folders? Windows Restore only brings me back to the problem day. 2. Is there any programme that scans your computer and gets rid of duplicate files/folders? 3. What is PKBACK#001.? What is/was NTLDR? Thanks for any help. Dr.Sam McGredy |
