31313 2002-01-15 08:05:00 I've just built myself a new computer and decided to install Windows 2000 Pro on it. The specs are as follows
Intel Celeron 2 900mhz (100mhz fsb), 384mb pc-133 sdram, 40gb maxtor hard drive (in 4 partitions) a realtek ethernet card and more. I install it and when it goes to boot up it takes about 2 minutes to get past the setup screen!. I've installed this on slower computers i've built and had no such trouble. I've tried formatting, re-installing twice but there is no change... any ideas?

If you have your network card active but not terminated, the computer can spend an age looking for the nonexistent network.

Try with the network card disabled in Device Manager and see what happens.
