| 31296 | 2002-01-15 06:23:00 | Pardon my ignorance, but here goes! I'm currently with Xtra but want to switch to Paradise - how do I go about it? Do I sign up with Paradise before terminating with Xtra, or vice versa? I'm on the Xtra Value Pack - do I have to give notice or can I cancel my connection immediately? Could some kind person take pity on me and tell me (step by step, I need it!) exactly what I need to do to switch ISPs? Thanking you all in advance! |

| 31297 | 2002-01-15 06:36:00 | This is how I did it: 1. Register at www.paradise.net.nz They will send you a letter and details of their settings with confirmation of your username and password. 2. Get Paradise up and running - the support staff will talk you through it on the phone - very thorough. 3. Go to Xtra and change your plan online. selfservice.xtra.co.nz I suggest you change it to a $5 a month for 2 hours plan, so you can keep your current email addy till everyone knows the new one. 4. Have your Paradise account check and get mail from the Xtra mail server in Outlook Express. 5. Once email to the Xtra account stops, cancel your Xtra account online. J. |

| 31300 | 2002-01-16 01:43:00 | I had made up my mind to go with Paradise then I saw an ad for quicksilver.net somewhwere and looked it up. I then put up a posting to see if anyone had any opinions on them and got no response. So I thought I'll give them $20 of my money and trial them for a month. From hooking up to their site, filling out the necessary online form and creating a basic homepage took 15 minutes, which included a quick call to thier helpdesk to ask them a couple of questions. (unbelieveable) Costs are: $19.95Unlimited/10mb/hosting $24.95Unlimited/15mb/hosting $29.95Unlimited/25mb/hosting Multiple email addresses with each a/c An online sitebuilder with good links to resources. Or you can upload your own site eg Dreamweaver etc. I will trial them for a month, upload a website I have just about completed and post back with the results. http://www.quicksilver.co.nz BC |

| 31303 | 2002-01-23 08:35:00 | Hi Jester, just a note to say thanks for your plain and simple advice. I had no problems signing up with Paradise, nor did I have any trouble setting up my account - you were right, their help desk staff are very thorough. I followed your instructions and everything went very smoothly. I'm now in Paradise thanks to you! | Guest (0) | ||
