31358 2002-01-15 23:21:00 When trying to use system restore (start/help/use system restore), I receive the following message 'System restore cannot run until you restart the computer. Please restart and run again.'

Well I have restarted the comp many times, yet the same msg appears and restore fails to run.

31359 2002-01-16 00:33:00 Microsoft have a patch out for that problem. Try windows update or do a search at the MS site. Guest (0)
31360 2002-01-16 01:27:00 I have disabled my system restore....its not a complete restoration program. It still leaves quite a few problems in your system when it does the restore and does not do a complete revert/go back. I found a wonderful(and I say wonderful as its saved me many times) program called Roxio Go Back. This program reverts your puter to exactly how it was at the time you choose...it wipes everything that did not exist at that time including any files/folders/viruses/programs etc.It retores all the settings etc to exactly how they were before as well. The only drawback to this is you lose any mail or other stuff you wanted to keep but this is a lot better than having to type format C: and starting again beleive me. Guest (0)
31361 2002-01-16 02:12:00 Hi dipstick 01
Yeah might have to change, as the wife has Roxio Go Back on her Win98 machine and like yourself, swears by it.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Interested in having a look at Roxio Go Back. Where can I find it, or info about it?

Cheers.
