| 31264 | 2002-01-15 01:20:00 | Using Win95 dial-up, when I try to connect, my computer brings up the ?Connecting to?.? dialogue box and immediately switches from ?Status: Dialling?? to ?Status: Verifying username and password?.? without actually dialling (no dialling tones). After checking the modem properties (control panel), via the diagnostics and ?more info...? on the COM port, the modem appears to return communication data. However, diallup does not succeed I?m suspicious that the modem may have been spiked, though my modem is connected via a ?zapcatcher? (power and phone line protected). Another modem and a fax were also connected to the same phone line at the same time without problems. |

If not, try it and let us know the result. :-) |
