31558 2002-01-17 04:29:00 I have a plain HTML alphabetical index page that displays GIF navigation buttons for each letter of the alphabet that there are index entries for - e.g. A B G M T

The same GIFs display in a line at the top of the page, in front of each alphabetical section and again in a line at the end.

When I view it using a network drive letter - e.g. g:\alpha.html - not all images show up. The images for some letters show but not others. Every time I refresh, the same or different images show/don't show. (The problem doesn't occur with a copy of the page and image directory that is on the local hard drive, just a network drive.)

When I view this page through its http address - e.g http://www.domain.alpha.html the images display as expected.

I have tried dismantling the page line by line - if there are only 2 instances of the same image the page is OK, but with the 3, the problem occurs.

I am using IE 5.5 on Windows 2000. (The same problem does not occur on IE 5.5 on Windows 95.)
