| 31485 | 2002-01-16 20:26:00 | Hi & Greetings. I have Win98 SE, Works2000, 20Gb Hd, 256 Ram. When I now try to open a Word file I get a message 'There is insufficient memory or disc space. etc'. Olso 'Winword caused a general protection fault in Module USER.EXE at 000b:0000231d. Have Uninstalled then re-installed Word 2000 and still have the problem. I can open & use other Utilities eg Spreadsheets & DV editing, Internet Explorer. I recently tried to instal a 'security update' Word2k sec.exe but it told me I needed Office2000 so I cancelled the update. Can't think of anything else I have done to cause this problem. Can any kind Mastermind please help me? Best regards from Peter. |

The fix run a search for all normal.dot files, delete them all then reboot your PC, word will then recreate a new normal.dot template and your problems will be over. Alan |
