31462 2002-01-16 10:26:00 After a recent power strike I had all of my hardware replaced together with a new CD-R/W, a RICOH MP7200A. I installed Easy CD Creator 5
Platinum only to find that the recorder is not supported.
I checked Roxio's site and the first version which supports my hardware is Direct CD v3.05 and Easy CD Creator 4.05. All subsequent versions are supposed to be supported but obviously aren't. My question is, does anyone know of a way around this, or have any ideas why I get the 'recorder not supported' message, when it supposedly is? I can't find any further info on Roxio's site and would appreciate a push in the right direction.
Thank you,
Ron Keilty

31463 2002-01-16 11:02:00 It's not really an answer to your problem but did you get CD Creator 5 with the new writer? If you did take it back.

Or I have the full boxed version of 4.05 Deluxe if you want to do a swap.

31466 2002-01-16 11:51:00 You need to get the update 4.05a which supports that writer.

May as well get 4.05b while your at it.

31467 2002-01-17 01:38:00 There is a patch for platinum Cd creator 5 on Roxios Site these usually give the updates for various cd writers
they also have and update that allows this programme to work with win XP
