31606 2002-01-17 08:08:00 Ok I went forth and installed my zip100 on the same channel as my HDD. Zero difference in performance with or without it there. 22.8mbps transfers from the HDD (is that ok for ATA 66??).

but here is the problem...the zip only reads at 1mbps. Device manager shows it as a ZIP100 but windows lists it as a 3 1/2 floppy, all works fine. Installed iomega drivers, ran guest etc and it assigns it to B.

Any thoughts out there??

31607 2002-01-17 08:37:00 Got a question Tazzie...

Whereabouts is Windows listing it as a floppy? My Computer? Desktop? Windows Explorer? All of the above?

If you disable floppy B: in the BIOS it should make Windows see it as a removable of another sort and give it a new drive letter.

If that doesn't do it, you may be in need of a BIOS upgrade. My box used to see my IDE Zip100 as an Imation Superdrive (LS120) until I upgraded the BIOS. Sounds similar. :-)

31608 2002-01-17 10:59:00 Under device manager it has it listed as a Zip 100, but under my computer it has it listed as 3 1/2 floppy B.

It is detected in the bios as Zip 100 primary slave.

Got me beat
