31804 2002-01-18 21:15:00 Its the infinite loop error that the Nvidia drivers get stuck in.

Tried all the fixes, read all the forums. Unfortunately until someone comes up with a definite fix for it XP has to get a thumbs down when it comes to gaming for me.

Last time it crashed it it kept on rebooting, would get half way through the restart and boom reboot time and time again. Wouldnt boot to safe mode, last known good configeration didnt work.

Tragedy really because otherwise I loved it.

31805 2002-01-19 05:17:00 I have the same problem with my nVidia card. It's really annoying. But it doesn't only effect gaming. The last 2 times it has happened when I have been browsing with IE. Guest (0)
31806 2002-01-19 05:29:00 I use to have a lot of problems with my nVidia Card but it's stable as anything now.

Don't ask me how it was done because I really don't know the truth. After installing so many different drivers it seemed to fix it.

When installing the drivers I think it's best if you do it in safe mode.

I've had a stable system for a while now and no crashes for my nVidia card (GForce MX400)

31807 2002-01-19 09:34:00 Its a bit of a problem the infinite loop error. I have heard a million and one solutions, tried half of them with no luck. The only common factor in the equation is WinXP. I have heard of it happening to guy's with VIA & Intel chipsets, Nvidia and ATI video cards, Intel and AMD processors. The most logical reasoning I have read relates it to memory timing and Direct X 8.1, have any of you guy's had a read on the via arena forums??? there is a lot of discussion about it there. Guest (0)
