31956 2002-01-19 22:45:00 I have partioned my c:\ with fips, but I cannot work out how to install Linux onto the new D:\, everytime I try and install it, a message will tell me I am doing a partionless install, and there will be speed penalties, which is not what I want, OK what I have been doing is highlighting the D:\ in the install clicking edit and selecting a mount point of root, what am I missing I have a feeling it is something painfully obvious, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance for any help. Guest (0)
31957 2002-01-20 02:23:00 Go to DOS/Win and delete the D: partition. Linux WANTS TO PARTITION IT ITSELF. Guest (0)
31958 2002-01-20 07:30:00 I suggest you choose 'Expert' as your install option - this gives you the ability to add or remove partitions as you wish as long as you have used fips or Partition Magic to resize your Windows partition first. It is good to have at least three partitions - /, /home and a swap partition. Guest (0)
