32302 2002-01-22 02:17:00 My home pc is running NT4 and has 4 account set up for various family members. 3 of us take about 20 to 30 secs to logout but #4 takes about 5mins during which disk thrashes incessantly. What items in their profile or usage could cause this ? eg desktop wallpaper, IE history lists etc ?

www.sysinternals.com

See if that works for you.

32304 2002-01-22 21:28:00 The problem with disk mon is by the phase in logout that is being affected all apps have been zapped.

It seems that NT (and probably W2K) saves the IE page cache when you logout. The following article found in the MS support base seems to be relevant even though I am running standalone, NT keeps a second local copy of user profile stuff.

support.microsoft.com

Thanks for the idea tho.
